HouseTag.Privacy centre

Your information. Your choices.

Privacy, in plain sight.

An address connects people to a place. You should know exactly what you share along the way.

Privacy policy Updated 10 October 2026

The essentials

01

Start without an account.

HouseTag uses a random anonymous ID. You don’t need to provide your name, email or phone number to get started.

02

A shared address is public.

The location, outline and entrance you publish help others find a place. Only add details you’re comfortable making public.

03

No ads. No data sales.

We don’t sell your data, show ads, or track you across other apps and websites.

On this page

HouseTag gives places a short, shareable address: a code, a mapped outline and an entrance. This policy explains what the HouseTag iOS app collects, why, and the choices you have.

Your device's location is used on your device to centre the map and find the property you're standing at. It's only sent to us as the location of a HouseTag you choose to create, never in the background.

Voice dictation uses Apple's speech recognition to turn what you say into search text. HouseTag doesn't receive or store the audio. Apple's handling of it is covered by Apple's privacy policy.

In the app, maps, search and place names come from Apple Maps. Searches and map views are processed by Apple under Apple's privacy policy.

On housetag.app, the satellite and street map comes from Apple Maps (MapKit JS). Your browser requests map data for the area shown, which shares your IP address and that area with Apple under Apple's privacy policy. Navigate opens the maps app you choose (Apple Maps, Google Maps or Waze), which handles your trip under its own policy.

Where data is stored

HouseTag data is stored with our database provider, Supabase. Requests are encrypted in transit (HTTPS).

How long we keep it

HouseTags stay published until they are removed. During testing, all data may be deleted at any time, including before public launch.

Your choices

  • Leave your creator name empty, so no name appears on HouseTags you create.
  • Ask us to remove a HouseTag you created, a photo, or your creator name, by emailing the address below.
  • Deleting the app does not delete published HouseTags or information already stored by HouseTag. To request removal, contact us below.

Children

HouseTag isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top. Significant changes will be announced in the app or in the TestFlight release notes.
